Teaching has been around for a long time. In today's classrooms, new teaching strategies are emerging. Many new strategies fall under the category of a partnering pedagogy. In a typical classroom, you might find a teacher led teaching strategy. In a classroom using a partnering pedagogy, you will see that it is student centered and the teacher is there as a guide. The way we are teaching children is changing from "learn now and do later" to "doing as they learn." Students need to be working on real world problems instead of just teaching concepts and expecting them to accomplish later. This will build students who can problem solve, communicate and collaborate, think critically, and adjust to change.
A flipped classroom is a great way to implement a partnering pedagogy. Below is a video I made to outline what a flipped classroom is and how to use it.
Part of a partnering pedagogy involves a student centered classroom. This is a wonderful video that shows what a student centered classroom is.
